I LOVE shooting downtown. One of my favorite parts of opening the studio has been the incredible amount of diverse locations within 5 minutes walking distance! Since we have started offering these images, we have added a little bit extra sassy and a bit extra fun to all of our senior sessions! Keep reading for my tips on shooting downtown!
Tip Number One: Ripped Jeans. These can add such a sassy punch to your images! Layer them up with some boots and a chunky scarf and you have downtown outfit perfection. Tip Number Two: Bright and bold colors! Don’t be afraid to incorporate a bit of color pop into your images! I LOVE “the yellow door” and finding buildings with crazy colored walls will make your images stand out!Tip Number Three: Shoot in the street! The class of 2016 had an advantage of main street being closed just for them! So we could literally pop right in front of the studio and get some GORGEOUS images! Now that it’s open again, we can find some side streets and your momma will be on car watch for us to make sure we get great images and don’t get run over!Tip Number Four: Dress up! A pretty dress and heels can really stand out against a brick wall or a patch of grass!Tip Number Five: Have fun. Above all, your senior portraits are about YOU and who you are right now! Don’t be afraid to get a little goofy! Those images are the very best.
This is part one of a six part series! Check back next Wednesday for my top tips for shooting in studio!
