JRP takes NYC Part One [ Destination Senior Portraits]

We did something crazy new and exciting this year! Each year for the past 7 years I’ve had a “model team” its made up of incredible young women who do great things in their community, and want to make an impact on the world and their town.  (enjoying photo shoots is a cool perk too!)

This year we did something a bit new and introduced levels to the program. (more on that in a different post)  We had six girls choose to go with our top level, and a part of that level was a destination trip to Philly. There were some last minute problems with that, and so with about a month left to plan it, these six girls and their amazing moms jumped on board with something that has been on my bucket list forever! A New York City photo shoot!

We rented a 15 passenger van,  and drove all the way there! (shout out to Hattie who couldn’t make it because she was busy being successful elsewhere!)  It was seriously such a blast and I loved getting to know these girls better! We did 2.5 locations (you’ll see) and our first location was Central Park.  It was freezing and so windy, but in true model fashion you really can’t even tell in these photos!

Hope is a class of 2017 Senior, and jumped right in for the chance to spend the day with us and her mom. She was fearless navigating the streets and handing out gifts to homeless people. ( I want to be like Hope when I grow up!)

Marissa is a fun, smart and passionate young woman who has a constant need for candy (reasons I love her #34597) and a kind, uplifting spirit.

Jordan is our resident makeup expert, is constantly calling me “buddy” and is flawlessly beautiful! Creating images of Jordan is probably one of the easiest things I’ve ever done. She’s also funny, and crazy crazy kind.

Jayda is so crazy smart. She’s been on the team for a bit, and is like an alumni at this point! She’s my sounding board and introduces me to all the cool music I should be listening to. She’s also an incredible artist, and a kind soul.

Kaysha is a 2018 Senior, and was seriously right at home in the big city. I would venture to say she would fit right in where ever she decided to live though because she is so easy going and friendly! Kaysha is killer at fashion, and is always the first one to volunteer if someone needs help.

I can’t even express how much I loved being a destination senior portrait photographer. I know for a fact that I’ll be offering this for our class of 2018 Seniors!
