Blake + Rachel | The barn at glistening pond wedding photography

Blake and Rachel’s wedding day was honestly what every little girl dreams her wedding day will be like. I have never photographed a wedding that went off without at least one small mishap, and thinking back I can not even think of the smallest thing that went wrong on their day. Everything flowed nicely. Everyone enjoyed every moment. Even without a first look, the day was spent not just looking forward to the ceremony, but breathing in the life of the day. Maybe it’s because they are theater people, I don’t know, but I can say it was the absolute best way to start our wedding season!

They held their wedding and reception at The barn at glistening pond in Falls, PA.  From the second I stepped onto the property I was floored! This blog post is about Blake and Rachel, but I would be remiss to not take a moment to mention how incredible of a venue they chose. We photograph A LOT of barn venues. In all of our years doing this for a job, I have never seen a venue that was this well maintained, with every thought and detail considered.  To top it all off, the owner as well as all the staff was so incredible! He was there parking people, greeting guests, mingling and just making sure everything was phenomenal for Blake and Rachel. I’ll write a full blog post at some point about what to look for in a venue, but I know that when Blake and Rachel were searching, I’m sure they felt the same way about this place as I did.

Rachel’s dress had bits from her mother and her grandmothers wedding attire in it. When she told me that I about cried. What a beautiful nod to her family. She also had a lite saber wedding bouquet made!  and custom shoes!

Mrs. Colsen, Rachel’s mom is one of the sweetest women I’ve met. She has a servants heart and poured out herself all day so that her daughter could have her moments. She took a backseat to let Rachel shine, and there is such a beauty in that. I loved this moment right before the dress was put on. Just her and her momma.

seriously though that dress! I think Rachel is probably one of the most beautiful brides. She looked and acted like a true princess all day.

After Blake and the boys got ready, it was time for the ceremony.

Then it was off for a few portraits before the reception!

lite saber reception entrance? of course!

If at all possible, we build a bit of time into the night to go out for sunset portraits. These are my all – time favorite because the formalities of the day are over, and it’s just you and your new husband snuggling up and feeling so so happy. The best images come from this because this is hopefully some of the favorite moments on our couples wedding day!

Blake and Rachel’s guests knew how to party! The dance floor was packed all night long!

Blake and Rachel, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing us to be a part of your day. You two are truly a love story that was a blessing to tell. <3
